Features of Room 506

• The room contains 2 single beds and 1 sofa bed.

History of Room 506

The walls and ceiling were in a dilapidated state due to erosion. Preserving this room was very challenging for us. Compared to other rooms, the entrance room in this room used to be a stable and service room. The bathroom, cooking area, and sleeping area in the room were divided into two.

The walls were cleaned using a tool resembling a geologist's fine and pointed picks.
Smooth surfaces facilitate the oxidation process and allow the stone to harden.
A smooth surface tends to collect moisture and causes peeling or flaking.
Hundreds of years ago, the walls were made in this way.
The bed in the room, work desk, wardrobe doors, and window frames were made in the workshop on site. The stones used for restoration were also dimensioned in the field.

Since MDC Hotel is located in a heritage area, we took care to keep the rooms in their original size.

You will notice drilled holes in the ceilings of all bathrooms and some other rooms. These increase the necessary air circulation for the preservation of cave surfaces. Without ventilation, moisture accumulates and can damage walls and ceilings.

Construction began in October 2009. The restaurant on the left of the stairs leading to the reception and the area to the left of the restaurant, reception, and all rooms extending to the right were completed and made ready for opening in February 2011. The construction of a total of 22 rooms and common areas lasted for 2 years. At one point, 70 workers were working on the site daily to provide our guests with a more comfortable and pleasant environment without compromising the original cave structure of our hotel.
