History of Room 303

The walls were cleaned using a tool that resembles a geologist's fine and pointed picks.
Smooth surfaces assist in the process of oxidation and allow the stone to harden.
A smooth surface tends to collect moisture and leads to peeling or flaking.
The walls were made in this way hundreds of years ago.
The bed in the room, the work desk, wardrobe doors, and window frames were made in the carpentry workshop on site. The stones used for restoration were also dimensioned on site.

As MDC Hotel is located in a heritage area, we took care to keep the rooms in their original size.

You will notice drilled holes in the ceilings of all bathrooms and some other rooms. These increase the necessary air circulation to preserve the cave surfaces. Without ventilation, moisture collects, and walls and ceilings can deteriorate.

Construction began in October 2009. The restaurant to the left of the stairs leading to the reception and the area to the left of the restaurant, all rooms accessed through the reception and extending to the right, were completed and ready for opening in February 2011. The construction of a total of 22 rooms and common areas took 2 years. To provide our guests with a more comfortable and relaxing environment without disturbing the original cave structure of our hotel, once there were 70 workers on site.
