Features of Room 511

• The room has 1 double bed and 1 large sofa bed. Optionally, it can be used as 2 single beds.
• Maximum occupancy is 2 persons.
• All rooms in our hotel feature a jacuzzi.
• There is a seating area inside the room and in front of the door.
• Room amenities include an electric kettle, television, air conditioning, complimentary water, slippers, an amenities basket, a safe, telephone, minibar, hairdryer, and wifi.
• We provide a complimentary wake-up service.
• The room is equipped with underfloor heating.

History of Room 511

The walls were cleaned using a tool resembling a sharp-edged pickaxe used by geologists.
Smooth surfaces aid oxidation and allow the stone to harden.
A smooth surface tends to collect moisture and causes peeling or flaking.
The walls were constructed in this manner hundreds of years ago.
The bed in the room, the work desk, wardrobe doors, and window frames were crafted in the onsite carpentry workshop. The stones used for restoration were also dimensioned on-site.

Since MDC Hotel is located in a heritage area, we have made an effort to keep the rooms in their original size.

You will notice drilled holes in the ceilings of all bathrooms and some other rooms. These enhance air circulation necessary for preserving cave surfaces. Without ventilation, moisture can accumulate and damage the walls and ceilings.

Construction began in October 2009. The restaurant to the left of the stairs leading to the reception and the area to the left of the restaurant, as well as all rooms extending to the right from the reception and stairs, were completed and made ready for opening by February 2011. The construction of a total of 22 rooms and common areas took 2 years. In order to offer our guests a more comfortable and pleasant environment without compromising the original cave structure of our hotel, once there were 70 workers daily working on the construction site.
