History of Room 407

The walls were cleaned using a tool resembling a geologist's fine and pointed pickaxe.
Rough surfaces assist in the oxidation process and allow the stone to harden.
A smooth surface tends to collect moisture and causes peeling or flaking.
The walls were constructed in this manner hundreds of years ago.
The bed in the room, the desk, wardrobe doors, and window frames were all crafted in the on-site carpentry workshop. The stones used for restoration were also dimensioned on site.

As MDC Hotel is located in a heritage area, we took care to preserve the rooms in their original size.

You will notice openings in the ceilings of all bathrooms and some other rooms. These increase the necessary air circulation to protect the cave surfaces. Without ventilation, moisture accumulates and walls and ceilings can deteriorate.

Construction began in October 2009. The restaurant to the left of the stairs leading to the reception and the area to the left of the restaurant, all rooms reached by the reception and extending to the right were completed and made ready for opening in February 2011. The construction of a total of 22 rooms and common areas lasted for 2 years. To offer our guests a more comfortable and pleasant environment without disrupting the original cave structure of our hotel, once, 70 workers were working daily at the construction site.
