Features of Room 406

• The room has 1 double bed and 1 couch.
• Maximum capacity is 2 people.
• All rooms in our hotel have a jacuzzi.
• There is a seating area inside the room and in front of the door.
• Additionally, the room is equipped with an electric kettle, TV, air conditioning, complimentary water, slippers, laundry basket, safe box, telephone, minibar, hairdryer, and wifi.
• We provide a complimentary wake-up service.
• The room has underfloor heating.

History of Room 406

The walls were cleaned using a tool similar to a geologist's fine and pointed pickaxe.
Smooth surfaces assist in the oxidization process and allow the stone to harden.
A smooth surface tends to collect moisture and leads to peeling or flaking.
The walls were constructed in this manner centuries ago.
The bed in the room, the work desk, wardrobe doors, and window frames were crafted in the on-site workshop. The stones used for restoration were also dimensioned on-site.

As MDC Hotel is situated in a heritage area, we took care to keep the rooms in their original size.

You will notice open holes in the ceilings of all bathrooms and some other rooms. These enhance the necessary air circulation for preserving cave surfaces. Without ventilation, moisture accumulates, causing damage to walls and ceilings.

Construction began in October 2009. The area to the left of the stairs leading to the reception, the restaurant next to the reception, and all rooms extending to the right from the restaurant were completed and made ready for opening in February 2011. The construction of a total of 22 rooms and common areas took 2 years. At one point, 70 workers were employed daily on the construction site to provide our guests with a more comfortable and enjoyable environment without disrupting the original cave structure of our hotel.
