Features of Room 404

• The room has 2 double beds and 1 sofa bed.
• Room 404 has a fireplace.
• Maximum 4 people can stay in the room.

History of Room 404

The walls were cleaned using a tool resembling the sharp and thin-pointed picks of a geologist.
Smooth surfaces assist in the oxidation process and allow the stone to harden.
An unsmooth surface tends to collect moisture, causing peeling or crumbling.
The walls were constructed in this way hundreds of years ago.
The bed in the room, work desk, wardrobe doors, and window frames were all crafted in the workshop on site. The stones used for restoration were also cut to size on site.

Since MDC Hotel is located in a heritage area, we took care to keep the rooms in their original dimensions.

You will notice drilled holes in the ceilings of all bathrooms and some other rooms. These increase the necessary air circulation to preserve cave surfaces. Without ventilation, moisture collects, and walls and ceilings can deteriorate.

Construction began in October 2009. The restaurant on the left of the stairs leading to the reception and the space to the left of the restaurant, where all rooms open with stairs extending to the right, were completed and made ready for opening in February 2011. The construction of a total of 22 rooms and shared areas lasted for 2 years. At one point, 70 workers were working daily on the site to provide our guests with a more comfortable and cozy environment without altering the original cave structure of our hotel.
