Features of Room 305

• The room has 1 daybed and a double bed. It can also be used as 2 single beds upon request.

History of Room 305

Rooms 303, 304, and 305 were the ones causing difficulty in the design stages. These houses are 200-299 years old. However, this area had not been legally researched until the late 1920s.

About 20% of the terrace behind these three rooms and the rooms were legally in the neighbors' properties. We had to negotiate for the purchase of this area before construction. Since his house passed under the region, we could only purchase the upper part. The long entrance and bedroom in this room were not mainly made of pink stones, but rather well supported compared to the bathroom. The bathroom was made of white and yellow stones from the volcanic rocks of Cappadocia, and white and yellow stones are softer in nature. Therefore, it was worn out and needed to be rebuilt. Decorative niches and windows were in place.

The ceiling decoration and the sitting bench were also there, but they needed retouching as the originals were sculpted.
The closet was expanded to accommodate clothes.

The bathroom was enlarged, but there was not much extra space we could use for neighbors 306 and 401. This room was probably used for prayer. The entrance road was a service room used for making and storing wine, as well as storing winter food. The cooking area was outside at the entrance, presumably used by both 304 and 305. There was a drop in the entrance path leading to Room 306, which possibly shared a stable. Rooms 304, 305, and 306.

The walls were cleaned using a tool resembling a geologist's thin and pointed pick.
Smooth surfaces help in the oxidation process and allow the stone to harden.
A smooth surface tends to collect moisture and causes peeling or crumbling.
The walls were made this way hundreds of years ago.
The bed, desk, closet doors, and window frames in the room were made in the carpentry workshop on the construction site. The stones used for restoration were also sized on site.

As MDC Hotel is located in a heritage area, we took care to keep the rooms in their original size.

You will see drilled holes in the ceilings of all bathrooms and some other rooms. These increase the necessary air circulation to preserve cave surfaces. Without ventilation, moisture collects, and walls and ceilings can deteriorate.

Construction began in October 2009. The restaurant to the left of the stairs leading to the reception, and the area to the left of the restaurant, including the reception, stairs, and all rooms extending to the right were completed and prepared for opening in February 2011. The construction of a total of 22 rooms and common areas lasted for 2 years. At one point, 70 workers were working on the site daily to provide our guests with a more comfortable and cozy environment without compromising the original cave structure of our hotel.
