Features of Room 203

• The room has 2 single beds and 2 sofa beds.
• Maximum occupancy is 2 persons.
• All rooms in our hotel have a jacuzzi.
• There is a seating area inside the room and in front of the door.
• In-room facilities include an electric kettle, TV, air conditioning, complimentary water, slippers, toiletries, safe box, phone, minibar, hairdryer, and Wi-Fi.

• The room has underfloor heating.

History of Room 203

The walls were cleared using a tool resembling sharp-edged picks used by geologists.
Porous surfaces aid in the oxidation process and allow the stone to harden.
A non-porous surface tends to collect moisture, leading to peeling or flaking.
The walls were constructed this way hundreds of years ago.
The bed, desk, wardrobe doors, and window frames in the room were crafted in the on-site workshop. The stones used for restoration were also sized on-site.

As MDC Hotel is located in a heritage area, we took care to keep the rooms in their original dimensions.

You will notice boreholes in the ceilings of all bathrooms and some other rooms. These increase the necessary air circulation to preserve the cave surfaces. Without ventilation, moisture accumulates and walls and ceilings can deteriorate.

Construction began in October 2009. The restaurant to the left of the stairs leading to the reception, and the area to the left of the restaurant, including all rooms accessed by the stairs and extending to the right, were completed and made ready for opening in February 2011. The construction of a total of 22 rooms and common areas took 2 years. To provide our guests with a more comfortable and relaxing environment without disrupting the original cave structure of our hotel, once there were 70 workers on-site.
