At the same time, it is the best architectural example among Seljuk mosques due to the luminous lantern in the mosque, the number of domes inside, the stonework, and the originality of its minaret.

Çavuşin Old Mosque

It is believed that the first imam of the mosque was Hafiz Dervish. It is the second oldest mosque in Çavuşin. The mosque, which has an area of 35 m², was expanded after a while when its capacity was insufficient.

It has a minaret that belongs to the Seljuk style. The mosque, which was closed in 1958, was restored in 2011, and its doors were opened to visitors again.

Mosques To Visit In Cappadocia: Sungur Bey Mosque

It was built by Seyfeddin Sungur Agha in 1335. There is a wooden pulpit inlaid with mother-of-pearl in the mosque, and the inscription on this pulpit states that the mosque was built by Master Ebubekir by order of Seyfeddin Sungur Bey.

Although the mosque has two minarets, we see Islamic and gothic art together. The mosque burned down in the 18th century, and the top cover was supported by pillars. Because of this, its original state has been lost.

Taşkınpaşa Mosque

Another mosque among the mosques to visit in Cappadocia is Taşkınpaşa Mosque. Taşkınpaşa Mosque, which is from the Karamanids period, is located in Damsa Village. The inside is decorated with geometrically decorated borders. Today, unfortunately, it has been painted with white paint and has become ugly.

One of the tombs in the mosque belongs to a person named Abdioğlu, whose name the mosque bears. Although it is not known exactly who Abdioğlu is, it is estimated that he was the founder of the mosque. The mosque is located in Ortahisar, the town of Ürgüp.

Ulu Mosque

This 18th-century Ottoman work is also known as an underground mosque. It has a transverse rectangular structure with stairs descending from the ground level.

 

Orta Bektik Mosque

The mosque takes its name from Orta Bektik Neighborhood. There is a six-line inscription at the entrance of the mosque located in the center of Nevşehir. In this inscription, it is written that the mosque was built in 1296.
