History of Our Room 407

We hope you are impressed with the entrance as it was a battle to convince we thought it best. The original was to come over the top and have a stairway. We assume the original entrance was on the left side and eroded away. This room is the only one that has a view of the valley behind. The balcony is great place to sit with your favorite drink and enjoy the sunset. This was a large house and there were remnants of at least one more to the left. The bedroom totally caved in yet the perimeter walls indicated the original size. As per most rooms the bedroom area was the kitchen and utility area. The entryway most likely the stable, we found no evidence of a dividing wall. The bathroom was both a sleeping and storage area. The walls were cleaned by using a hammer resembling a geologists pick. The rough surfaces help the oxidization process which allows the stone to harden. A smooth surface would tend to collect moisture and cause flaking. This is the way the walls were done hundreds of years ago. You will also notice holes bored into ceilings of all bathrooms and some other rooms. These enhance air circulation which is necessary in preservation of the cave surfaces. Without ventilation moisture would collect and the walls and ceilings would deteriorate. The bed, desk, closet doors and windows frames were made on site. Stones were also sized on site. Construction started in Kasım 2009. Standing at the bottom of the stairs the area to left of the restaurant, the restaurant and reception buildings as well as all the rooms accessible via the stairs and extending all the way to the right were completed and ready for opening in February 2011. The areas above the main patio level and to left of the restaurant were faced during the same interval. At one time there were 70 workers on site.

The hotel is located in a quiet and calm area with a romantic atmosphere. Rooms are very well designed with lots of cultural details which makes your stay even more authentic. Most of all, the staff is really helpful. Special thanks to Manager Mustafa who is very attentive and friendly towards his guests

Do not have enough words for this hotel. Located in a quiet town sort of in the back alleys. It's pretty far from the airport and on the way there we were a little concerned about how the hotel would turn out to be since we didn't know where we were staying as we booked through a tour company. But boy were we pleasantly surprised! The location was beautiful, the rooms are like nothing we have ever seen. I mean you're sleeping in a cave! Modern amenities, wifi, AC all made us feel very comfortable. But, the best part of the hotel was the food and beverage manager Ercan! He was the most gracious host and so kind! We were in Turkey for our honeymoon and he definitely made it special. The food was delicious as well and the service was top-notch. If you don't stay at the hotel, I highly recommend that you go to this restaurant. You will not regret it

We STRONGLY recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to have a great time.We stayed 2 nights in this beautiful hotel constructed from ancient cave dwellings carved out of the local volcanic rock. All rooms were unique, my was very spacious and comfortable with an amazing bathroom with jacuzzi. The room opened onto a terrace with seating area leading to steps down to the restaurant and up to reception from there. On arrival we were offered drinks and our luggage was taken to our room by helpful staff. There was a vast choice of food for breakfast even including gozleme (Turkish pancakes) freshly made by the ladies and even Turkish delight two nights here. The staff are super friendly and helpful.
