History of Room 608

You are almost the king of the castle. You have a wonderful view! This room was completely destroyed due to erosion. The stairs leading to the room were also worn out. The bedroom was demolished and rebuilt; this room was likely a living area in the past.

The walls were cleaned using a tool resembling a geologist's fine and sharp-pointed picks.
Sandy surfaces help in the oxidation process and allow the stone to harden.
A smooth surface tends to collect moisture and causes peeling or flaking.
The walls were built in this way hundreds of years ago.
The bed in the room, the work desk, wardrobe doors, and window frames were made in the carpentry workshop on site. The stones used for restoration were also dimensioned on site.

Since MDC Hotel is located in a heritage area, we took care to keep the rooms in their original size.

You will notice open holes in the ceilings of all bathrooms and some other rooms. These increase the necessary air circulation for preserving cave surfaces. Without ventilation, moisture accumulates, and walls and ceilings can deteriorate.

Construction began in October 2009. The restaurant to the left of the staircase leading to the reception and the area to the left of the restaurant, including all rooms accessed by the reception and extending to the right, were completed and made ready for opening in February 2011. The construction of a total of 22 rooms and common areas lasted for 2 years. In order to provide our guests with a more comfortable and cozy environment without compromising the original cave structure of our hotel, up to 70 workers were employed daily in the construction site.
