The village of \u00c7avu\u015fin, a focal point of interest for tourists, is still home to a local population. At the same time, it hosts fairy chimneys, ruins and churches. Although many of its structures lie in ruins, it is an important area that deserves to be explored.<\/p>\n

\u00c7avu\u015fin Old Mosque<\/strong><\/a><\/h2>\n

It is believed that the mosque’s first imam was Haf\u0131z Dervi\u015f. It is the second-oldest mosque in \u00c7avu\u015fin. Covering an area of 35 m\u00b2, the mosque was expanded when, after a while, its capacity became insufficient.<\/p>\n

It has a minaret built in the Seljuk style. Closed in 1958, the mosque opened its doors to visitors once again after being restored in 2011.<\/p>\n

K\u0131z\u0131l\u00e7ukur Valley<\/strong><\/a><\/h2>\n

As in other parts of Cappadocia, when it comes to places to visit in \u00c7avu\u015fin, the K\u0131z\u0131l\u00e7ukur Valley is just as important as the other valleys.<\/p>\n

It is also known as the Red Valley. It is made up of red tuff rocks, and at sunset this redness takes on an even deeper shade, leaving visitors in awe. Since it has many recesses and protrusions, exploring it can be a little challenging.<\/p>\n

Along the way you will come across several tunnels. The longest of these intriguing tunnels is around 37 metres.<\/p>\n

\u00c7avu\u015fin Church<\/strong><\/a><\/h2>\n

As is well known, there are many churches in Cappadocia. A list of places to visit in \u00c7avu\u015fin needs to include at least one church. That is why it would be unthinkable not to add \u00c7avu\u015fin Church to the list of places to visit in \u00c7avu\u015fin.<\/p>\n

It was built before the birth of the Prophet Muhammad. Two staircases, located on the right and left sides, are used to enter the church. Once you step inside, you will see seating sections and baptismal fonts. There are also many drawings on the walls. As in some other museums, photography is prohibited in \u00c7avu\u015fin Church as well, so that the paintwork does not suffer any damage.<\/p>\n

The cemetery section found in many churches is also present in \u00c7avu\u015fin Church. Small chambers were created in the names of the deceased so that visitors to the church could pray in comfort.<\/p>\n

Church of St John the Baptist<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The two features that bring this church to the fore are that it is one of the oldest churches and that it has the largest interior volume.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, the front facade of the church has completely collapsed. Research has established that the church dates back to the 5th century.<\/p>\n
